When it comes to an event supporting a great cause, I can't think of a better fit than the 2011 EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women. The nationally acclaimed EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women has touched the lives of millions of people by raising money to increase awareness, education, research, and diagnostic treatment services in the fight against women's cancers. The actual races are taking place on both coasts on the following dates:
EIF Revlon Run Walk for Women - NY
Saturday, April 30 · 7:00am - 12:00pm
Times Square & Central Park, New York City
EIF Revlon Run Walk for Women - LA
Saturday, May 7 · 7:00am - 12:00pm
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
I'm encouraging all of my NY and LA Moms to mark their calendars for this inspirational event! As a Washington girl who isn't the most athletic, I will be participating as a cheerful supporter! Even though I might not be able to participate in the live event, EIF and Revlon have made it easy for me to get involved and support this worthy cause.
Here are just a few of the ways to make a difference, even if you can't be there to cross the finish line:
- Sponsor a Team or Participant- Know a fellow Mom who's running or walking? Show your support for her dedication by donating directly to her as an individual or her team. You can also make a general donation on behalf of all women. Learn more here.
- Raise Funds- You don't have to be racing to rally up your troops. Encourage your friends and family to give back by hosting a fundraising event or setting up a "loose change" jar in your office.
- Show Your WOMENTUM™!- Tweet. Text. Blog. Post. Rev it up and pass it on! WOMENTUM™ has social presence galore. Let's keep it going and growing. Meet up on the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women Facebook page and add your story. Share some inspiration. Find some fundraising tips. Tweet some encouragement. Get the latest updates and exclusive sneak peeks into the 2011 EIF Revlon Run/Walk!
With so much social power and tools at our fingertips, WOMENTUM™ is a powerful force. Look out women's cancers, your days are numbered. I hope you'll join me in supporting this great cause and honoring all of the mothers, sisters, daughters and friends who have endured women's cancers.
