I am not shy to say that I am a mama who LOVES food.  I used to be the person who hated cooking. My idea of making a meal was cooking some hamburger helper.  Thank goodness I grew out of that! I am proud to say that my love for food has developed into a love for cooking over the years! I love trying out different recipes and learning how to cook! It has become a fun hobby for me and a great way to relax!!

I love new books by other mom bloggers and of course, free prizes! Beth’s approach to healthy eating is simple and realistic for busy moms. You’ll learn a lot about the food you eat and how it impacts your body and still have loads of fun experiencing new foods and enjoying your life.

This book will help you get on the track to eating great and loving it!  It's packed full  of great meals and ways to change your lifestyle to live healthier! And of course it has tips straight from a REAL mom who REALLY loves food! ☺ Sounds like my kind of mom!!

Moms Into Fitness Review!

Getting your pre-baby shape back doesn't have to be a long hard struggle. I have had 3 kids and I know all about the ups and down and the battle with the scales.  I have learned to focus more on inches than pounds over the years, and how to eat healthier and stay active. This is critical in getting back your shape! Moms into Fitness is a great 60 day slim down program that will help you shed those unwanted inches in a fun and exciting way!
The 60 Day Slim down system and momsintofitness.com was created by Lindsey Brin!  She has made 13 fitness DVDs made just for moms. This 60 Day System comes with 4 DVDs, a 60 day meal plan, fitness test and progress tracker. The meal plan is real made for moms and their families- no tofu and broccoli here! It retails at $49.99 and can even be used if you are nursing! This system is a fun challenge, and is truly effective if you stick to it!

I am very pleased with my results from using the 60 day slim down! I have gone from a size 11 to a size 7 and have noticed most of the difference in my stomach to thighs region! These have always been my troublesome spots so it was nice to get them down again.  I am still working on toning and firming, but the inches I have lost so far has been wonderful! I have also been able to eat well and get my whole family eating healthier. I make better choices when I am hungry and have learned to eat things in moderation. NO MORE OVER EATING! Just because its there doesn't mean it needs to be eaten. I have also learned about which foods are better than others and better alternatives to my favorite naughty foods!

I love this system and think it's a great way for any mom, new or seasoned, to get in shape! There is no better time than right now to get it together, and its NEVER too late! Get started on your 60 day slim down now! To save 30% use coupon code ?daydvd30 at momsintofitness.com/dvds  And I know you will love the free Stroller Pump workout! Visit http://www.momsintofitness.com/stroller-pump and use Coupon Code "sp1" or "sp2" for Level 1 or Level 2

I was not compensated for this post. I was given a free sample of this dvd system to use for review on my blog. All opinions are 100% my own.

Dot Girl First Period Review & Giveaway!

Part of growing up for every girl inevitably leads to one thing-your period. Instead of making it a big scary deal, help prepare your daughter for this moment with the Dot Girl First Period Kit! This cute little kit has everything your girl will need when the time arrives! It has great supplies and information that will help to answer here questions and make it easier to talk about!

Product Description
The kit includes The Dot Girl Period Answer Book, which answers twenty common questions about menstruation including: How many days will I bleed? When will I get my first period? How do I track my period? What about cramps? What is a period anyway?

Included also are five feminine pads and five disposal bags, and the Dot Girl Warm Pad,  a reusable gel heating pad that everyone loves so much for soothing cramps. Two hand wipes complete the kit ensuring girls that they'll be prepared in any situation.

Started by two sisters, Kathy Pickus and Terri Goodwin, our goal at Dot Girl Products is that every girl has a positive first period experience and an empowered first step to womanhood.  Our motivation to create The Dot Girl First Period Kit® grew from our own awkward teenage experiences.  Despite the fact that our mother was a wonderful nurturer to four daughters, she was never comfortable talking to us about our bodies.  Kathy vowed the first period experience would be different for her daughter, and thus was born the idea behind Dot Girl Products.

I loved this kit! It has allowed me to open the door with my daughter and talk about these kinds of things.  The kit is discreet and will fit perfect in a back pack or gym bag.  I like that it offers answers to a wide variety of questions, because sometimes I don't have the right answer.  The warming pad is a great thing to have.  I really wish they had stuff like this out when I was a kid, but I am glad I can use it with my daughters!

PUJ Baby Sling Review

Up until about Halloween, I had never used a baby sling. I had used other types of carriers but never one that you wrap and wear. They seem kind of insecure to me so I was too nervous to wear one. Then one day I came across PUJ Baby and their amazing baby slings. This looked so secure and comfortable, I had to try one! So when PUJ Baby offered to send me my choice, I was so thrileld!!

I chose the beautiful Heather Go Sling!
I don't have it fully folded down on the shoulder like it should be but I wanted to get this picture on it! I love this sling! I t is really secure, and my little one (she is almost 2) fits in in and it makes it easy to go to the mall or wherever when I can hold her this way and worry more about the older two!  And I love that I can fold it up and throw it in my purse or bag and use it whenever I need to! It is quick and easy to put it on and go!  This sling makes my life so much easier!
Product Description:
Need an extra hand? Maybe you're about to go on vacation and don't want to deal with the stroller at the airport? Or maybe you just need a simple solution for all those quick stops you make here and there.
Whatever the need, PUJ makes parenting easier. With the "Go" sling you're in and out in no time. No straps, no buckles, no zippers and no metal rings. Just throw it over your head and you're good to go. You can even put it on while holding your baby.
Really! It's that easy. And it folds flat so you can easily store it in your bag of tricks. It's there for all the times you weren't planning on stopping. It's comfy, it frees up both hands, and is machine washable. Your baby will love you for it. Plus your arms won't start to burn 7 minutes into your 4 hour red-eye flight to Chicago. The "Go" sling by PUJ.
So simple you'll actually use it.

A $1 MILLION Pledge to Moms & Babies in Need

August is a huge month for breastfeeding – Glamourmom has been searching for a way that can help both their desire to help moms and babies in need & a way to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week & Breastfeeding Awareness Month.  After 8 months of planning, they have officially kicked off a special donation program ‘Buy one, Give One’.

Recognizing the low breastfeeding rates both domestically & internationally due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster as well as the close connection to the ever increasing Infant Mortality Rate - Glamourmom Pledges Up To $1 MILLION in Nursing Apparel to Moms in Need During Breastfeeding Awareness Month!

The donation program will run from August 1 thru August 31, 2010.  Any purchase of a nursing bra tank made on www.glamourmom.com & www.glamourmom.co.uk during August will be matched and will be donated to moms in need around the globe.  The donation goods will be dispersed domestically and internationally to lower income families & underdeveloped countries in hopes of increasing the overall international breastfeeding rate.  Glamourmom is hoping to launch this project and highlight both the alarming rate of infant mortality worldwide as well as the benefits of breastfeeding.

Please support this great cause!!

I was not compensated in any form for this post, it is an informative post.

Baby Dipper Review and Giveaway!

With 3 kids, a husband and a dog, there is always plenty of mess to be cleaned up! So when it comes to meal time I am always looking for ways to keep it as clean as possible! That goes double for my “baby”! She is almost 18 months old and totally independent. If she wants to do it herself then nobody is going to convince her of anything different. So I have to give in and let her feed herself! That is why I was so happy to try out the FABULOUS Baby Dipper feeding set!!!!!! Seriously, let me tell you the types of food my little one has been eating WITHOUT SPILLING A DROP: cereal w/ milk, Progresso chicken noodle soup, chili, casserole, applesauce, and even ice cream!! I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I used it. Seriously?? Where did the food go? It wasn't all over the tray, or on her clothes. I mean there was a little on her mouth but SERIOUSLY?!?! She really didn't spill anything!! Well, I was pretty darn excited about that! So I have been using it for everything and anything!! She loves it and totally knows its “her” bowl and fork and spoon!

The bowl has a non slip base, so for self feeders it stays in place as they use the specially shaped silverware to scoop or stab food from the bowl. It gives parents feeding younger babies a free hand during meal time. The inside has a specially contoured design to help push the food onto the silverware and keeps it from spilling over the sides! The bowl is BPA free, so you can be sure it won't harm your child! And its top rack dishwasher safe, so its easy to clean for daily use! The bowl is also the perfect size to throw in a diaper bag for meals to go, at restaurants or at other people's homes! This is the ideal tool for children learning to self feed!! I just wish I would have had this with my other 2 daughters!! It would have saved me a lot of clothes and time spent cleaning up!!

The Story of the Baby Dipper® bowl

Hello! I’m Barbara Schantz, mom of twin girls, Greta and Cora, born in 2004, and also the mother of twin boys, Franklin and Carlton, born in 2008. As a stay-at-home mom of twin babies, I faced the daunting task of feeding them. Frustrated with the bowls I had already purchased, I investigated and bought other bowls, but still remained disappointed. The vision for the Baby Dipper® bowl came to me when Cora and Greta were about 6 months old, not long after they started eating baby cereal and other pureed foods. I needed a bowl that required only one hand to successfully feed a baby, but why wasn't there one on the market that satisfied this need?
I was thinking that to accomplish one-handed feeding, the bowl should not slide around on the table and it should aid in the collection of the baby food. A non-slip bottom surface would keep it from sliding. A sloped interior surface and a spoon-shaped collection point would help gather the food down to the last bite. Also, adding to those features, vertical sides would help push food onto the spoon and transparent sides would allow the food to be seen easily by both the parent and the child. The bowl I designed has proven to make feeding much easier for parents and even for toddlers trying to spoon-feed themselves. The patented Baby Dipper bowl is truly unique in the marketplace and hopefully will help parents everywhere.

A newborn’s conversation with God…..

A baby asked God, ‘They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?’ God said, ‘Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.’

The child further inquired, ‘But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.’ God said, ‘Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel’s love and be very happy.’

Again the child asked, ‘And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?’ God said, ‘Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.’

‘And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?’ God said, ‘Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.’

‘Who will protect me?’ God said, ‘Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.’

‘But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.’ God said, ‘Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.’

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, ‘God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel’s name.’

God said, ‘You will simply call her, ‘Mom.’

But it's your catchall, the place where you put this and that when you lack a better place to put it.  Stuff you can't seem to do without but don't have a good place to put it.  I know I do! I have one, my husband has one.  So I was thrilled when Rubbermaid offered me to try out their new Junk Drawer Organizer to help with my disorganization!!  Well I was a bit bummed when the dimensions of the interlocking Junk Drawer Organizers didn't fit in the drawer I wanted to use it on.  So I started trying to figure out how to best use the system, and decided to use it in my bathroom medicine cabinet! We store everything that is used often in there-toothbrushes, hair deals, medicines, etc.  Here is a pic of how it looked BEFORE:

Messy, unorganized and not nice too look at! We are always on the go so much that it just ended up like that.  Well no more!! Take a look at the fab job in my AFTER pic:

Nice, neat and ORGANIZED!! All the toothbrushes are together, hair ties have a place-it all fit so nicely!! The only organizer I was unable to use was the large one, I believe it is the  6"x15".  I ended up using that one on my shelf in the bathroom to put small bottles of hair products and other small things to keep them together. I can just pull out the box to get what I need and look into without having to make a mess.  The entire system makes everything nicer to look at and makes it efficient!  I was so proud I had to run out and show my husband what I had done!!  ☺  What can I say, I love being Suzy Homemaker!!

I wanted to share some fabulous Junk Drawer Organizing Tips from Rubbermaid:

Bringing order to your home's most over-used drawer
Everyone has one. But few of us use it effectively. Yes, that’s right: the family junk drawer. Almost always in the kitchen, it becomes a catchall for everything from specialty kitchen tools to spare keys, gum to school permission slips, office supplies to emergency essentials. Here’s our four-step plan to help you sort through the mess and transform your drawer from junky to ingenious!
STEP 1: ASSESS THE MESS
Take everything out of the drawer and put it on a (spacious!) flat surface. What’s actually in there? There’s stuff that should be there (batteries, extra keys), and probably a lot that shouldn’t: tools, school permission slips, junk mail, candy. Determine what’s staying, and what’s going.
STEP 2: RELOCATE WHAT NEEDS RELOCATING
Move the aforementioned misplaced items to their rightful places (in the tool box, into the garbage or recycling bin), then ensure similar items won’t end up in the junk drawer in the future. Put baskets by your front door or mudroom so kids have someplace to stash school notices, and you have a spot to put mail, junk or otherwise. Set up a plastic binder or sleeve to hold takeout menus, placing it near your phone book. And vow to take the extra time to put screwdrivers and drill bits where they belong, to avoid searching later.
STEP 3: CREATE NICHES FOR JUNK-DRAWER ESSENTIALS
Now dedicate space for junk drawer must-haves. These are the things you want on-call on a weekly basis, as when packing lunches, jotting down notes while checking voicemail, handing off the house to a home-sitter or babysitter, lighting candles, and so on. Also, you’ll want to keep some emergency supplies handy, like the essential flashlight and batteries. Shallow plastic drawer organizers, with moveable dividers that can be adjusted to fit drawer size, are perfect for all your junk-drawer needs. Flashlights, notepads and pens, twist-ties, kitchen twine, scissors and matchbooks are all accessible.
STEP 4: CONTAIN TINY MULTIPLES - OR NOTABLES
Paper clips, rubber bands, stamps and loose change benefit from further containment within the organized junk drawer. Use TakeAlongs Twist & Seal single-serving food containers to hold these easy-to-lose items. It’s also a good way to set aside spare keys.

Rubbermaid  would love to help one of you get more organized! One lucky reader will win a set of Junk Drawer Organizers with the following dimensions:

    Swaddle Designs Review and Giveaway

The best way to comfort your newborn and help him feel at home is to swaddle him (or her!) nice and snug! Looks pretty difficult to me!! Things never stay as nice and tight as when the nurses do it. Now, of course, they show you how to do it when you have your baby at the hospital...after 24 hours of grueling, exhausting labor. I'm sure you paid attention. But now you're at home with this tiny little person who is flailing his arms and you can't remember!?!? Well, rest assured that someone has heard your prayers Mom, and that person is Lynette Damir of Swaddle Designs!!

While visiting families with new babies, Lynette found that parents struggled with swaddling because they didn’t have the right kind of blanket (most were too small or too thick) and they could not remember how to make a good secure swaddle. Lynette wanted to share her knowledge of proper swaddling because she understood that parents needed help when trying to learn how to swaddle. Lynette designed The Ultimate Receiving Blanket® with 123 Swaddle® instructional tag sewn to its edge. Lynette’s blanket has helped hundreds of thousands of new parents learn how to swaddle to calm and comfort their newborns.   Check out their Swaddling Tips! (from Swaddle Designs)

Genius!! I was so thrilled to receive the Dots Stars and Hearts Receiving blanket!  The pattern is colorful and fun, and my daughter loves how soft it is!!
They have so many great patterns and different styles to choose from!! And I love that they put the instructions right there on the blanket, sewn in so it doesn't stick out!!

Swaddle Designs wants one of you to wrap your baby in style and comfort!! Here are the details!!:
