I am not shy to say that I am a mama who LOVES food.  I used to be the person who hated cooking. My idea of making a meal was cooking some hamburger helper.  Thank goodness I grew out of that! I am proud to say that my love for food has developed into a love for cooking over the years! I love trying out different recipes and learning how to cook! It has become a fun hobby for me and a great way to relax!!

Beth’s approach to healthy eating is simple and realistic for busy moms. You’ll learn a lot about the food you eat and how it impacts your body and still have loads of fun experiencing new foods and enjoying your life.

This book will help you get on the track to eating great and loving it!  It's packed full  of great meals and ways to change your lifestyle to live healthier! And of course it has tips straight from a REAL mom who REALLY loves food! ☺ Sounds like my kind of mom!!

Big Book Of How Review

I have a very curious little 6 year old on my hands! She is constantly asking questions to learn more about the world around her!! I try my best to answer them all, but mom only knows so much!!! I often turn to books or good ol' Google to help find the answers I don't know! I like to find educational books that are interesting but still teach you something!! A recent find of mine was "The Big Book Of How", from Time Home Entertainment!  This great books answers questions on a HUGE range of topics, all in words kids can understand! It makes learning fun!!

The 192-page book, packed with vivid illustrations and comprehensive reporting, helps kids ages 8 and up discover the answers to questions such as: How does a chameleon change colors? How was Mount Rushmore built? How to stay safe during an earthquake? How do you build a spaghetti bridge? How do diamonds form? How does an iceberg form? How do astronauts train for a space mission? How does a lock work? How does popcorn pop? Detailed explanations, more than 200 colorful photos and diagrams, and over 20 “How to” activities help to educate and engage young readers.

My daughter thought this was about the coolest thing on earth!! When I gave it to her we spent about a half an hour browsing the pages and reading the ones that caught her eye. Some of our favorites included learning about tornadoes, Mount Rushmore, and all sorts of animals! The photos are great and everything is explained really well! I love that they broke the book into chapters by topic, so you can check out specific things like sports, natural disasters and more!  The book is an endless source of great knowledge!!

The book is available now for $19.95-and even less if you shop around!!  It is recommend for ages 8 and up, but my 6 year old really enjoyed it! She can read but still needed just a little help with the bigger words.  This book is a must have for any child who loves to learn!!   Check it out today!!

I was not compensated for this post. I was given a copy of the book to review on my blog. I was not obligated to give a positive review.

Kathryn the Grape - Just Like Magic {Children's Book Review & Giveaway}

My 5 year old has been doing really well learning to read this year! I am so proud of her!! We are always looking for great new books to explore together! I was very excited for the chance to review Kathryn the Grape-Just Like Magic! By Kathryn Cloward and Jody Duhamel.  It is illustrated beautifully by Christine Winscott! This fun story is great for bedtime and helps you use your imagination!

Product Description:
"
POOF! Just Like Magic! That’s how easy it is to fall in love with Kathryn the Grape and her magical butterfly friend, Maggie! These inspiring characters teach that each of us has our own magic within. As your children read along, they will discover their own inner strength and fearlessness, learn about making new friends, and learn the importance of helping others. Kathryn the Grape takes the reader on a journey of discovery and spreads the message that everyone is magical!"

This fun book was an instant hit with my girls! They wanted to read it as soon as it came and again at bedtime!  They really like magic so this was a great story for them!  The book has bright colors and is easy to read aloud!  The book has 40 pages but each page only has a few sentences! That gives you plenty of quality reading time without being TOO lengthy!  I love how it also gives little lessons, like considering right and wrong and acting accordingly!

Something really cool about this story is that $1 of from every book sold on KathryntheGrape.com is directed to the Kathryn the Grape Foundation. They partner with non-profit agencies focused on  supporting education, empowerment and sustainability.  The Kathryn the Grape Foundation exists to share the magic by giving back and partnering with local, national and global organizations aimed at supporting education, empowerment and sustainability.

I think this is a great book with a great cause! I want one of you to get this book in this great giveaway, Sponsored by Tomoson.com!  Here is how to win:

Once Upon a Surrogate: The Stork's Helpers Book Review!

There are families made up of all sorts of people and formed in different ways. How can we teach our children about diversity in families and to open their minds to all the possibilities out there? Books are a great way to do this! One book I recently discovered is Once Upon a Surrogate: The Stork's Helpers!  This is a great book that is written by Jill Hancock Reeder!  Her daughters, ages 6 and 10 did the illustration! This is truly a unique book!!

This is a brand new children's book released 10/10/10. You don't have to be a child to enjoy the book. You don't even have to know anything about surrogacy. The book is written in a fun way for all to enjoy.  It was a great way to learn more and to help open your minds!  I really enjoyed sharing this book with my daughters!!  And since Jill has been a surrogate, she has shared her first hand experience to help us understand it more!! This is a wonderful book!

You can buy your own copy by clicking here!  Books are $20.94 total!
