Tropical Traditions Skin Exfoliator Review & Giveaway

960x854 logo.jpg
I absolutely love Tropical Traditions! I have featured this company many times on my blog, and love their coconut oil based products! I am doing another review with them, and this time I am trying the Unscented Skin Exfoliator! This exfoliator is really great! It is a mix of sea salt, organic Virgin coconut oil, organic jojoba and organic Virgin palm oil.  I have tried lots of exfoliators but I think this is my favorite!
The first time I used this exfoliator I immediately noticed a difference! The sea salt gets rid of the dead skin cells, and the oils help to moisturize.  It left me feeling a bit greasy for a little bit, but once my skin absorbed the oils my skin felt very soft. It works really great on all parts of the body, I especially like it for the feet! And since it's unscented even a guy could use it without feeling girly.  There are no alcohols, artificial fragrances or petroleum in the exfoliator.  This is something every one should definitely try to help with dry skin! Exfoliating is a really important part of your routine, and this stuff works great!

The founders of Tropical Traditions are Brian and Marianita Shilhavy.  In 1998 Brian  and Marianita returned to the Philippines with their three children and renovated Marianita's old family farmhouse. By this time the coconut industry was severely depressed due to the negative U.S. campaigns against tropical oils in the 1980s and 1990s. Coconut farmers could no longer support their families on the income generated from harvesting coconuts. This couple tried a method the older generation used to extract the oil by grating the fresh coconut, extracting the coconut milk, and then letting the coconut milk stand in a covered container for about 24 hours. After about 24 hours, the oil naturally separates from the water producing a crystal clear oil that retains the full scent and taste of coconuts.  This proved successful, and they began using this for their own families.  They still use traditional methods for their products today!

One of you will win your own Skin Exfoliator!!  Here is how to win!

Tropical Traditions Arnica Moisturizing Lotion Review & Giveaway!

https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=f365428657&view=att&th=12da3f44c2736a27&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw
One product I have to use daily is lotion. If I skip any other routine I will be okay. But I have to use lotion for my dry itchy skin. I have to avoid certain lotions, which cause my skin to become even more irritated. I prefer natural ingredients to keep my skin healthy.  I love Tropical Traditions Arnica Moisturizing Lotion! This lotion is made from great ingredients that keep my skin moisturized without feeling greasy!

The smell of this lotion is amazing.  It is unlike any lotion I have tried before! This is a great massage lotion, and especially for those tired muscles!  The unique combination of ingredients creates a very relaxing scent!  This lotion goes on well and absorbs within a few minutes.  I am even able to use it on my youngest daughters skin, and she has eczema.  She has had no reactions to this lotion and I have used it on her many times.  I really love this lotion!
 Moisturizing Lotion - Arnica

How Tropical Traditions Organic Moisturizing Lotions are Different

Filipinos are well-known for their youthful appearance and soft skin, even though they live in a climate that exposes them to the sun’s rays year round. Coconut oil is their main dietary oil, and is also the main ingredient in their skin care products.

All of the moisturizing lotions that Tropical Traditions offers are made with organic Virgin Coconut Oil and Virgin Palm Oil. No other products on the market are made with finer oils as their base. Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil is traditionally made from fresh organic coconuts, and independent laboratory tests show that it has a higher level of antioxidants than other coconut oils.

Probably my least favorite chore is doing the dishes.  Who wants to spend their time standing by a sink, getting all wet while your fingers get pruny? Then of course your hands end up being dried out from washing all the time. That is why I like to use Household Traditions Coconut Oil based dish liquid! This dish liquid doesn't dry my hands out like regular soaps.  And it gets the dishes super clean without artificial fragrances!

This soap is great for washing dishes, or soaking dishes for those tougher messes!  You can get a whole gallon for $29.50 which is a great deal!  This gallon will last a very long time, as a little soap really does go a long way!  It is also good for the environment! I like this soap for taking with me when I go camping! I don't have to worry about harming anything by using it to stay clean!

Household Traditions Dish Liquid is free of:

Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment Review & Giveaway

https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=f365428657&view=att&th=12da3f44c2736a27&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw
I have always had hair that is dry and frizzy. It takes a lot to get it where it needs to be! Over the years, I have learned how to keep it more moisturized, but it still needs a little something sometimes!  I was excited to try the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment!  Coconut oil has been found to reduce the protein loss remarkably for both undamaged and damaged hair when used as a pre-wash and post-wash grooming product. Both sunflower and mineral oils do not help at all in reducing the protein loss from hair.

Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment is specially made for hair application. It has a slightly higher amount of protein than our other coconut oils, due to the presence of coconut solids. This Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is a truly unrefined coconut oil. This oil has made my hair softer and shinier. I have super curly hair, and it has made my curls more defined and I don't have to use so much gel. I am able to get the pretty curls I like without all the crunchiness from hair product buildup!
Tropical Traditions Coconut Peanut Butter Review and Giveaway!

I have been trying many different products from Tropical Traditions. They offer a variety of coconut and coconut oil based products, including Coconut Peanut Butter. It is made from 100% organic dried coconut and 100% organic peanuts. There are no extra additives or preservatives. These are the only ingredients listed on the bottle!! Compare that to other peanut butters, like the leading brand. They have sugar, salt, and vegetable oils to name a few ingredients. The combination of the coconut and peanut butter ground together makes a healthy spread that tastes great!

Even though it has no added sugar, I found this to be a bit sweeter than the average peanut butter. There is less than a gram of sugar naturally in a teaspoon of the peanut butter. Overall it has only a few more calories per 2 tablespoons than the leading brand of peanut butter, but the calories from fat are less in the coconut peanut butter. There is more saturated fat, however, there is only 6 mg of sodium in two tablespoons of the coconut peanut butter, compared to 150 mg in two tablespoons of the leading brand. For me, that was really important, because I don't want to give my family too much added sodium to their diet. Most people have too much sodium daily. The coconut peanut butter is a better source of iron, and actually has some calcium. The leading brand of peanut butter doesn't have a significant amount of calcium. The coconut peanut butter does have less fiber and protein than the leading brand, but only by a gram for protein, and .08 grams for fiber. And there are less carbs in the coconut peanut butter. As far as I was concerned, this is a pretty good alternative to regular peanut butter!!

When I opened the peanut butter, I was surprised that the oil had risen to the top because of the intense heat in my house! Luckily you can just stir it back together to get that great taste!!! This peanut butter is certified USDA organic, so it is guaranteed to be high quality and truly organic! I feel good knowing I am helping my kids eat a little healthier, and it doesn't take much effort or any fighting to eat well!!

You can win your own jar of coconut peanut butter!! Here is how to win!!:
