Life is so complicated these days!! Why can't things go back to being simple? I remember the days of being carefree and not so stressful! Now a days we are on the go, over tired and overstressed.
Oral-B is kicking off their “Glide Into the Holidays” program benefiting Operation Smile, an international children's charity that provides free surgeries for children with cleft lips and cleft palates. Oral-B will donate $1 for everyone who uses the hashtag #Switch2Glide by tweeting or posting on Oral-B’s Facebook wall to support Operation Smile's mission to heal children's smiles and make the world a better place. Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft, and many of these children cannot eat properly, speak, or smile.
To help make the holiday season easier, Oral-B Glide along with “General Hospital” star Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo, will kick off the “Glide Into The Holidays” program benefiting Operation Smile, with a free skate day on November 11th at New York City’s Wollman Rink in Central Park. At the event, families are invited to Glide on the ice to raise money for Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity that provides free surgeries to repair cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
To grant holiday wishes to kids globally with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities Oral-B Glide will make a donation for every pledge made at the event. Additionally, Oral-B Glide and Vanessa hope to inspire others to stick to their oral care routine this holiday season by pledging to switch to Glide online through Facebook and Twitter. For every person who tweets or posts on Oral-B’s Facebook wall with the hashtag #Switch2Glide through February 28, 2011, Oral-B® Glide™ will donate $1 to Operation Smile with a guaranteed donation of $10,000 over the course of the entire campaign.
Did you know that Oral-B Glide slides easier in tight spaces compared to the leading floss? How can we make life easier? Here are my tips of an easier life!!
1. Take time to smell the roses. Now that doesn't mean go to the floral department and smell the flowers. It means slow down! Take time to enjoy the now. We take too many of the little things for granted. Take time to see the beauty right in front of you.
2. Be a kid again! This is the perfect time of year to indulge in some child like behavior! Play in the leaves, or play in the snow if you already have some! Get out there and goof off and don't worry about a thign!
3. Take a time out. Ask your partner to watch the kids while you grab a coffee with a friend, take a bubble bath or read a good book. Taking time for your self will refresh and energize you to take on anything!
4. Clean as you go. Now this sounds obvious, but cleaning throughout the day instead of letting it all pile up will make the task less stressful. By doing things here and there, you can maintain the mess!
5. Get the kids to pitch in around the house! My 2 year old is great at helping me unload the dishes! And my older 2 kids are great at putting their clothes in their drawers! I fold and then hand them their articles of clothing (a few pieces at a time) and they know where they go in the dresser! This is great to start young so they will continue to do it as they get older!
6. Do something as a family! Go play together! Eat dinner together. Talk about the day's events. This will build a stronger relationship between you and your child and could prevent problems in school or with friends. The better you know your child, the less complicated things may be down the road.
7. Take time with you and your partner alone. Find a sitter and have a date night. A relationship takes work and taking time to rekindle the spark will lead to you both being happier and the marriage will be even better!
8. Prepare ahead when you can! Pull out clothes, shoe and backpacks for the next day so nothing gets forgotten and you have time in the morning without being rushed. Prepare meals ahead so all you have to do is throw it in the oven or crock pot. This will make your life easier by not having to do so much at once!
9. Don't look back! Trying to fix things that went wrong in the past only make life more complicated. Live in the now and forget the past! Focus on the future and how to make it better!
10. RELAX!! Who cares if the house isn't spotless? It will get cleaned. Who cares if the kids make a mess on their clothes? That is why they have stain remover. The more you stress about the little things the more you will have a complicated life!
