Save the Sleeve! Boogie Wipes Review & Giveaway!

One thing I cannot stand during cold and flu season? The dreaded runny (or even worst, crusted up) noses. I mean, when a little ones nose is running or dried up, it can be miserable trying to keep it wiped up!  That was the thought of Boogie moms Mindee Doney & Julie Pickens! They were so tired of having to chase down kids to get their noses wiped up, that they thought "What can we do to fix this?"  The answer was Boogie Wipes!  They are wipes containing saline, which breaks down the mucus and leaves the nose clean and without irritation.   These moms took it from home to a booming business! Boogie Wipes are sold in stores across America! They come in great packs perfect for the diaper bag or home, as well as on the go packs, small enough to throw a few in your purse or even a pocket! Truly on the go convenience!
Saline works because when crusty boogies are on your little one's nose, saline is the only great defense!  Saline breaks down mucus quickly, and that is why saline is used in nasal spray.  But of course, nasal spray and little ones? Hahaha! Don't think so!  If any of you have a kid that takes nasal spray with out complaining, please let me know! Mine are like terrified of the stuff!! Boogie wipes help to break down the icky stuff, and keep the nose clean and non irritated. That is the biggest problem I have with kleenex and even baby wipes. It irritates the nose with the constant wiping of the nose. With boogie wipes,I have used them for the entire duration of my little one's cold and her nose never got red and painful. I have even used these wipes when I have been sick to prevent my own nose from being irritated! Every time I get a real bad cold, my nose will end up peeling and in pain from the constant blowing and wiping.  So these wipes really work and are a great thing to have wherever you go!

Earlier I mentioned I had used Boogie Wipes on my own nose. Other moms must have too, because the creators of Boogie Wipes have created Achooz, a saline wipe for adults!

When colds and allergies set in, all the blowing and wiping with regular tissues can leave your nose feeling sore, red and raw. Now, you can make your nose happy with Achooz Saline Nose Wipes, the next generation in tissue.™

The Boogie Mom's team of doctors and chemists (and the stuffy noses of the Boogie Moms), created their unique non-medicated formula to break down mucus and soothe the nose while wiping. It includes the same gentle, patent-pending magic of saline, vitamin E and aloe as the Boogie Wipe products and is available in Fragrance Free for everyday use and Cool Menthol for extra stuffy noses.

Boogie Wipes has a current campaign to Save the Sleeve! No more kids wiping their noses on their shirt or jacket sleeves! Go to SavetheSleeve.com and make the pledge with your child to save their sleeve! They learn some gross facts about boogies, take the pledge, and get a special prize!! A great way to get our kids to "Save the Sleeve"!!  While you are there, click on the page to meet Boogs!  He is the cute Boogie Buddy from Boogie Wipes!!  Right now, you can get your little one a cute and cuddly Boogs the Boogie Buddy! You can get him by simply visiting their website, printing out the form, attaching 3 UPC's and mailing it in!

Boogie Wipes has offered to sponsor a giveaway on my blog!  One of you lucky readers will win (2) packs of 30-count wipes (fresh, grape, menthol, or unscented– combination varies)!!!  Here is how to win!:

Mabel's Labels Review & Giveaway! Open to U.S. and Canada!!

If you have a child in school, I am sure they have lost a thing or two.  And if their name isn't in it or on it, you may not get it back.  Mabel's Label's to the rescue!! They have a wide array of labels for kids, babies, clothing and more! If you need a label for it, chances are they have it! They even have waterproof stickers!

I got to try out the Colorful Ultimate Back to School Combo, and got to choose the exact name and design of the tags! I got them for my 5 year old, who just started Kindergarten!  We chose the "Sweethearts" motif:

I loved the shoe tags (the large circle tags), which go right inside the inside of the shoe! They are surprisingly long lasting and durable! And the design is just so cute!  The tags were perfect to stick on a zipper, but we chose to put it on one that isn't opened and closed a lot. I wasn't sure if the tag would make it through tons of zipping and wanted it to be on in case she leaves her back pack somewhere!  The long skinny tags were used on all sorts of school supplies: notebooks, scissors, pencils and pencil box to name a few! The tags come off the plastic items clean, but are strong enough to resist peeling off on their own.  I am just so impressed with the durability of the labels! The smallest labels were used for smaller things and were just as durable as the larger labels.

A little about Mabel's Labels from their About Us page:
"We are moms who were frustrated by the amount of stuff that left our houses, never to return. After lots of research and testing we created the perfect labels for the stuff kids lose.
Our sticky labels and clothing labels are dishwasher, microwave and laundry safe, and customized with a child’s name, choice of colours and icon. We also offer child safety products and household labels.
We continuously create innovative labels for babies, kids and grown-ups. You’ll be amazed at what you can label!"

I was so impressed with Mabel's Labels that I wanted to share with you guys! And one of you lucky readers will be winning your own set of the Colorful Ultimate Back To School Combo customized for your child! Here is how to win!!:

Taking Family Game Night on the Road! Review and Giveaway!

Hasbro
Family game night is a great way to keep your family close and have fun together! And there are great games for any age group! Hasbro knows that families travel alot, and so to take the fun of some of your favorite games on the go, they have created some great new card games!!

I got to try out three of them: Sorry Revenge, Yahtzee Hands Down and Mille Bornes Card Game.  Here is a bit about each one!

Sorry Revenge:
SORRY! REVENGE Card Game

Win the race to flip all of your pawn cards home and sweet revenge is yours! Take turns to play number and action cards to change the play pile’s total. Get the pile to 21 without going bust to get one of your pawn cards home. But watch out – someone could play a SORRY! card and steal your win!
Includes 109 cards, 1 reminder card and instructions. For 2 to 4 players.
Ages 6 and up.
This game is a fun alternative to the regular Sorry! game, and is really easy to learn how to play! It gets everyone excited and involved, and is great for many families!
YAHTZEE HANDS DOWN Card GameKeep your wits about you and your eye on the cards! Collect dice cards to make classic combinations: 3 of a kind, 4 of a kind, small straight, large straight, full house and YAHTZEE! Re-roll by discarding cards you don’t need and taking a chance on new ones. But here’s the twist – pit your hand against another player’s. Score high and win the Combo card points. It’s great YAHTZEE fun in a card game!

Includes 12 combo cards, 12 chance cards, 84 dice cards, 1 starter card, 1 reminder card, 1 combo sheet and instructions.
For 2 to 6 players.
Ages 8 and up.
I love the original Yahtzee! This game is a fun twist and it makes it a refreshing new game while still a bit like the original! Also easier to keep the pieces, since you don't have a bunch of dice to keep track of!
And also I played Mille Bornes Card Game!
MILLE BORNES Card Game

Put your foot down… it’s time to play MILLE BORNES! Play distance cards and speed towards the finish line, or put the brakes on your opponent with nasty hazards! Drive carefully, because they’ll be playing hazards on you too. Out of gas? Play a Gasoline card. Got in an accident? Play your Repairs card. Be the first player to travel 1000 miles and win!
Includes 115 cards, instructions and scoresheet.
For 2, 3, 4 or 6 players.
Ages 8 and up.
I had never heard of or played this game before, but I was so excited to try it out! This was definitely my favorite, because not only are you playing to stay alive, but you are trying to set your opponent back too!  This game is fun no matter if you have 2 or 6 players! What a great way to pass the time!
Hasbro would like to help your family have your own Family Game Night with these great card games!! Here is how you can win!:

Ring in the Summer with Radio Flyer!

July 4th weekend is almost upon us, which means one thing- patriotic celebrations all wrapped up in red, white and blue! Families all over our great country will be heading to parks, beaches and backyard barbecues to commemorate the occasion with fireworks, sparklers and other symbols of Independence Day. And many of them will be pulling behind them another American icon in a certain signature color- a Radio Flyer Wagon!

Since 1917, the famous little red wagons by Radio Flyer have been a favorite of families and kids everywhere. Boasting more than a dozen award-winning wagon models and a complete line of tricycles, scooters, and other ride-ons, Radio Flyer is as synonymous with outdoor play as summer itself.

There are endless ways to enjoy your little red wagon, from standing out in the crowd at the Fourth of July parade, to toting all the ingredients for a fun summer picnic. Not only will your red wagon provide hours of outdoor adventures, it will bring a lifetime of memories too. That's why Radio Flyer is celebrating the beginning of summer by launching the World's Largest Wagon Mosaic. Simply capture your families' Radio Flyer moments on camera and go to www.RadioFlyerArt.com to add your photo and help the legacy of the little red wagon live on!

I was not monetarily compensated for this post. I was offered a chance to win a prize in exchange for the post.

Savvy Source Birthday Party Tips!

I got an email from Savvy Source and I had to share the contents with my readers! Here are some great tips for your child's next birthday bash!!

Bigger Isn't Always Better: Tips for a Fun and Manageable Birthday Party

June 01, 2010 by Kelly Leahy

When did children's birthday parties go from small gatherings of a few friends and relatives to full blown galas? We've seen princess parties for four-year-olds complete with invitations that looked like they could have come from the renaissance, pony rides and inflatable castles.

Your child's special day does not have to throw you into debt just to make it memorable. Here are a few tips on planning the perfect party and managing your child's expectations (and your own)

Start planning early. The earlier you start stocking up on supplies, the less it will hurt your budget. Invitations, decorations and favors can be purchased well in advance. A theme can be helpful with planning, but it's not necessary.

Set a start time and an end time. Unless you are interested in firing up the grill, pick times that don't coincide with meals like 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 2:00-4:00 p.m. If your child still takes an afternoon nap, why not have a morning party at 10:00 a.m.? This prevents afternoon meltdowns and allows your guests to have the rest of their day free.

Think of the parents. If you are partying with preschoolers, chances are the parents will be there too. Make sure to have plenty of adult snacks (and maybe some beverages, too). Have a place for them to sit and don't be afraid to ask for help. Chances are parents will jump at a chance to escape the small talk.

Activities. Kids are pretty good about entertaining themselves but planned activities can help considerably. Have a craft ready for the children to make as well as a more physical activity (piñata, kiddie pool or monkey bars) for the more rambunctious guests.

Party in a box. Sometimes the easiest and even most economical option is to rent out a space for your child's party. Whether it's a local pool, a party room at the zoo, or an indoor playspace, you can sit back and let a professional take over. This is a great option when inviting your child's entire class or when you just don't feel like cleaning the house twice.

To open or not to open. More and more often, we go to parties where the gifts are piled in a corner and left unopened until the guests leave. Though there are arguments that this prevents jealousy, guests often place quite a bit of thought into the gifts that they select and would like to see them opened. Also, this gives your child the opportunity to thank them in person. Opening gifts after the cake cutting gives people a chance to duck out if they don't want to sit through the paper flying. If you do opt to open them in private, be sure to send a thank you note, phone call, or at the very least, an email.

The most important things to remember are that kids are pretty happy little creatures as long as there is sugar around and that birthday parties only have to last about two hours. Relax and have fun!

Champions Summer Science Program!

With Spring in full bloom, it's not too soon to start thinking about your kids' Summer plans. Instead of letting them hang around the house all Summer or sending them off to Grandma's, why not send them on the adventure of a lifetime? What child doesn't want to become an astronaut or solve an ancient Egyptian mystery?

Moms, meet Champions Science Adventures summer day camps. They focus on taking science education beyond the classroom to spark a child's interest in science through exploration and discovery. Science Adventures day camps are available for students ages 5 to 12 years throughout the summer, at participating recreation facilities, parks, and schools nationwide.Champions Science Adventures take science education beyond the classroom to spark a child’s interest in science through exploration and discovery. Science Adventure day camps are available for students ages 5 to 12 years throughout the summer, at participating recreation facilities, parks, and schools nationwide.

This year, two new exciting camps have been added, including: Mystery of the Pharaoh’s Treasure and Go Wild! In these camps, children help to solve an Egyptian mystery and investigate amazing wildlife and plants. Plus, two popular camps – Gizmo’s Robot Factory and Space and Rocketry – return.

Each camp is one-week long with half-day and full-day options. Parents can enroll online at http://www.scienceadventures.com/ and have the option to register their children for all four camps, or just one program. Camp program fees and schedules vary by location.

• Champions Science Adventures summer day camps focus on FUN and take science education beyond the classroom to spark a child’s interest in the world of science through exploration and discovery

• Champions Science Adventures camps are designed to inspire curiosity about how the world works while instilling a love of learning about science through interactive, hands-on experiments and activities

• This year’s four camps are Mystery of the Pharaoh’s Treasure, Go Wild, Gizmo’s Robot Factory and Space and Rocketry

• You can visit www.scienceadventures.com for more information

• Save $50 on a Champions Science Adventure summer day camp with the following code: summerscience10

• As the final days of the school year approach, there are several simple ways to encourage your students to keep their minds working all summer long. Summer vacation is the perfect time for children to discover that learning is fun and can happen anywhere - not just in places called classrooms. One easy way to learn while on summer break is with educational videos. Try the Champions Science Adventures webisodes found here: (http://www.youtube.com/user/scienceadventures). Filled with amazing footage and information, you're sure to be engaged from in front of your own computer.

• Tips to choosing a summer camp:

1. Ask Your Child: Camp should be about fun so it’s important to ask your kid about their interests and where he/she wants to go for camp. Get thoughts from your child first as that should lead you in the right direction and help shape all your other decisions.

2. Take a Tour: Take time to visit the camp you’re considering, preferably with your child, to preview the program offering. Look for well organized plans of activities, thoughtful preparation and a safe and inviting environment for your child.

3. Consider Specialty Camps: Now, there are camps that are focused on specific activities like sports or science. For example, children that attend the Champions Science Adventures camps learn how to build a robot, become mini-astronauts, solve an Egyptian mystery and leap into a wild animal adventure over four weeks beginning in June.

4. Balance Learning and Fun: While summer should definitely present fun filled activities that give children an experience different from their typical school day, the program you choose should also incorporate some learning activities into the camp day.

5. Insist on Health and Safety Basics: Look for programs that are licensed and meet stringent health and safety requirements. Make sure to inquire about the medical training of the staff and if medical equipment like a first aid kit is readily available.

Champions Science Adventures, the nation’s largest science enrichment provider, is proud to offer ONE FREE HALF DAY TOPIC WEEK to our Science Summer Camp in 2010. Check out the camp locations here. Our fun, interactive science day camps help rocket kids toward a bright future. Your child will be introduced to science concepts as they build projects, conduct experiments and take part in multiple science activities.

Charm FactoryGirls are all about accessories and dressing up!! Especially when they are younger!! My daughter is only 4 but TOTALLY has her own sense of style! And if she doesn't like something I show her "it's hideous". WOW. ☺ But I found something where she can express herself and not be TOO loud.

Charm Factory offers "Unique, High Quality, Sterling Silver Charms, Charm Bracelets & More"
"Silver charm bracelets are so easy to personalize. Start by choosing a charm bracelet (or necklace). Then add as many .925 sterling silver charms as you like. Each charm comes with a free jump ring to attach it to your bracelet."

Our pewter charms are also nickel and lead free. Charm Factory products do not contain cadmium. The jump rings attached to pewter charms do contain a small amount of nickel. Get your kids to eat their veggies-and LIKE them!

Most kids turn their nose at veggies. "I don't like it" is the common excuse.  I have often felt like my kids aren't getting the proper nutrients they need.  So I started "sneaking" veggies into their diet.  Here are a few of my favorite tips to get the kids to love to eat veggies!!

1. Offer veggies with ranch.  Tried and true.  Offer a variety and see what they like! Keep offering it, as it can take 10 times to like a new food!

2. Offer drinks like V8 Splash, that have a serving of veggies in every serving.

3. Look for canned pasta (such as ravioli, spaghetti rings, etc.) that say "one serving of vegetables inside", these are usually the kinds of things kids will eat.  It is important to find the one that says there are veggies inside, because the others are not as healthy.

4. Make burgers with ground up veggies. We made some with green and red bell peppers, onions and garlic. We just cut them up, put them into a mini hand food processor until it was really chopped, then mixed by hand into the meat.  After making patties we cooked them and they were a HUGE hit!!  There was easily 1 if not 2 servings of veggies in those burgers!

5.The same can be done with treats!  Check out The Sneaky Chef for fabulously yummy treats with lots of veggies!!

Post any other veggie tricks you might have up your sleeves down below!!
