"Diamond Stud Earrings" Review

Being a busy mom of 3 little ones, I don't always have time to accessorize. And when I am always on the go and have grabby little fingers who like mommies pretties, it isn't always the best idea to buy really expensive jewelery. But diamonds are a girls best friend! So what's a frugal gal to do? Head over to Diamondearrings.org!  They have beautiful diamond stud earrings!

Now of course they aren't real diamonds. But they look pretty nice!  The earrings came in a cute little black semi heart shaped box! They are nice and big so they look special and flashy but they are cheap! Of course, you get what you pay for. One day about a week after getting the earrings, one of the gems fell out. But I popped it right back in and since then they have been fine. They haven't irritated my ears, and they haven't rusted out like some cheapy earrings do.  Overall, this is a pretty good deal! At least if you lose one, you aren't losing an expensive diamond!!

String Ring Review and Giveaway!

I love jewelery with a secondary meaning! Being able to express yourself in a unique way is always fun! I was so excited to find String Ring!  They offer super cute rings that can express any feeling!

I chose the red one, because I am a hopeless romantic ☺ It was super cute and I loved that I could change the colors if I choose!  The sizes of the rings are true to regular sizes.  I loved that the ring supports kindness!   This is something we sometimes lack or forget in this world, and that is unacceptable.  This ring spreads a message of positivity!

The String-Ring Story

Who We Are

Originally from Oklahoma, my husband Jeff and I moved to beautifully wooded Kingwood, Texas in 1996. Jeffrey, our only child, was born shortly after. Both graphic designers, Jeff soon found his role as Creative Director specializing in web design and branding. I began working as a freelance designer and started doing volunteer work at Jeffrey's school when he began kindergarten. As much as I loved the school programs, I couldn't help but feel that the kids could really benefit from and needed a kindness program, but I wasn't sure how to go about it.

The Idea

It seems to me as though everywhere you look, you come across rude behavior in our society. I've observed, through personal experience or news programming, such violent behavior as road rage, campus rampages, ugly office politics, weapons and threats in the schools, most recently cyber bullies, and simply just a basic lack of respect in our everyday interactions with those around us. I've asked myself, "How can we teach our children to be kind and compassionate when such aggressive behavior is exhibited everywhere you look?"

One evening, my husband asked me to critique the layout design of a jewelry website he had just built for a western jewelry designer whose work was heavy on symbolism - String-Ring started to take shape. Thinking to myself, "I could create an inspirational ring reminding people to be kind using the old custom of tying a string around your finger."

The Process

I purchased several different kinds of sheet metal and went to work on my idea. Using my son as a guinea pig to wear the ring, I fashioned several mock-ups until I was ready to send the ring design to a jeweler and have a prototype produced. Even after the prototype was made, still changes went into place to create yet another. I had to find the right design to hold the string in place, and I wanted the colored string to be noticeable enough to send the kindness message but not overpower the ring. The stringing also had many different incarnations. I began using white string and dipping the ends in paint, but eventually decided to go with colored string. First using hemp string, which I soon discovered frayed, and then switched to waxed cotton. Always keeping cost of materials in mind, so kids could be able to afford the ring.

The Peace and Love message of the Sixties Movement felt appropriate for our branding, so we modernized the peace symbol and came up with the Pass It On! tag line (sort of "Pay It Forward"). Jeff built the on-line store and I sent out a flood of emails and press releases notifying friends, family and community that String-Ring is now in business.

So here we are, hoping to communicate a positive message and play our small part in making our world just a little kinder.

A little about Life Verse Jewelry Holy Bracelets Company was established in 2006 by Christine Smith, Christian Jewelry Designer and Christian Mom. Christine wanted to remember her favorite life verse, a scripture verse that she carried in her purse, pasted on her mirror and marked in her Bible. Unable to remember the verse reference, Christine invented the exclusive Bible Verse Memory Bracelet collection. Christine's Christian friends were asking her to create beautiful bracelets with their own life verses so they too could remember their favorite sayings and scripture. Each friend wanted a different verse, different color, and different charm so each personalized bracelet became unique to the woman who wore it. Very soon, these women were asking for inspirational bracelets for their friends and giving them as sentimental gifts for mothers who lost their children, gifts of encouragement for friends battling cancer treatment and gifts of love for their own mothers and daughters. As the business quickly grew, the bracelet designs were renamed "Life Verse Jewelry" and Christine registered her company trademark. Every single bracelet handcrafted by Christine inspires emotion. She prays for the mom who needed a leukemia awareness bracelet to give her strength. She prays peace for the man who asked for a rememberance bracelet. Christine pays careful attention to the military sons asking for Psalm 23 bracelets for their Mothers and Sisters back home, encouraging them that God has a plan for them and their families must trust the Lord. While on a family vacation, Christine receives a call for 16 breast cancer bracelets, and an entire family surrounds their sister in love and strength during her cancer surgery. Our business is about helping one another and loving one another with all our heart, all our strength and all our soul.
