Zippity Doo's Head Lice Prevention Products Review & Giveaway

Growing up many of us had probably had lice or known someone who has. I will admit, I had lice in middle school, which I got from my 7 year old sister.  Since I had terribly curly hair, my parents decided it would be better to shave my head to 1 in. long than to deal with the lice.  Bad idea on their part, but it did make it easy to get rid of the lice. This was pretty much the worst time of my life-I was horribly teased for being a "poodle" and couldn't explain that I had been forced to shave it because of my parents.  I was too embarrassed to tell anyone I had lice.

I wish I had a good product back then that could have helped to prevent the horrible incident that shaped my adolescence.  I have worried about what would happen if my kids got lice. Of course I wouldn't take the "easy" route and shave their heads.  But I would like to find a great alternative-like using products that prevent head lice.  I may have found the answer-Zippity Doo's Head Lice Prevention Products!

This product doesn't smell the greatest, so make sure when you use the sprays you are doing it in a ventilated area.  But I truly think these products do work.  I haven't heard of any outbreaks, so I haven't been able to really test it. But I have used them on my daughter who goes to kindergarten and so hopefully it will prevent it this spring! I think the smell alone should repel the little creepy crawlers! The detangling spray works well at getting the knots out, and the shield spray for the finishing touch is great.  This is a great product for anyone with little ones in school!

This dryer seriously kicks butt! The cool setting is my favorite to use on my hair, as well as my kids hair.  It keeps my hair from getting real frizzy and it works on the kids because it doesn't burn their sensitive little scalps!   They love it and it makes for a great incentive to brush their hair! The dryer leaves my hair soft, smooth and dry!  I also love that I can get my kids up in the morning for school, and she can take a bath and still have dry hair before going out side. In this cold weather, that is a necessity! I don't care if they say wet hair won't make you sick. It can't help either lol!

Conair Xtreme Instant Heat Multisized Hot Rollers Review and Giveaway! (*2 winners*)

I have always had super curly hair. But not always the type of curls that I want. Mine are tight, little curls.  When it gets cut short my hair kind of waves. It can be frustrating to never get exactly what I want from my hair.  Well I was recently offered the chance to review the Conair Xtreme Instant Heat™ Multisized Hot Rollers  and I was so excited! 

The rollers come in 3 different sizes, which works great for getting beautiful curls just like I wanted!  Something unique to these rollers is that the clips are heated, so you get total heat all around the curl, not just from the roller itself.

Anyone can use this product! It is simple to use:

HOW TO CURL YOUR HAIR

1. Place ends of hair on roller and wind toward scalp. Roll up hair firmly. Remove clip from heated post and secure over roller. Place another clip on an aluminum post for heat-up. Continue to add clips to heating post as rollers are added to hair.

2. The firmness of the curl is regulated by the diameter of the roller, and the length of time the roller is left in your hair.

3. For tight, firm curls, use smaller rollers and leave in the hair for at least ten minutes before removing. For soft, wavy curls, use larger rollers and remove rollers after a shorter period of time.

4. Removing roller: hold roller in one hand while removing heated clip with the other. Gently drop roller (DO NOT PULL) and let curl bounce back after roller has been completely removed. Let cool for one minute for a firmly set curl, and then style your hair into a look that lasts for hours.

IMPORTANT: After using the hairsetter several times, you will find the best roller selection, and the best timing for the texture of your hair and for the result you desire.

Misikko Corioliss Classic Pro Flat Iron 1" Review and Giveaway!

I have had curly hair ALL my life. Super curly, super tight, super frizzy.  I have tried straightener after straightener, NEVER getting the results I wanted.  I was skeptical that the Corioliss Classic Pro Flat Iron from Misikko would be any different, but I was willing to give it a shot.  I was super pleased with the results!!

I loved the cute heat-proof pouch! Some tips for use:
How To Use


1.Take a 1-inch wide section of hair, starting 2 inches from the scalp.

2.Wind the section of hair around the thicker portion of the barrel toward the cool tip.

3.Hold the end of the hair in place at the cool tip for 5 to 8 seconds depending on hair type, and then release. Because there is no clip, you can easily curl hair without kinks. For tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair. For loose, free-flowing curls, roll more hair. To "set" the curl, do not comb or brush hair until it cools.

4.Repeat process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hair style you desire.

Expert Tips
For tight curls wrap small sections of hair tightly and hold for a few seconds


For looser curls wrap wider sections of hair

For today's look, don't wind hair all the way – leave a few inches straight at the roots

I used this curling iron on my daughters hair.  Shae is such a good little girl when it comes to mommy messing with her hair! When she came home from school we got started! It took us about 20 minutes to get all her hair curled! I honestly couldn't stop talking about it for hours!! I was calling Grandma and daddy and everyone telling them to come see Shae's hair!  It is even quick enough to do in the morning before school.  I was also worried that maybe she would get burned, but everything went amazingly well! The only complaint was that sometimes I pulled a little tight when rolling her hair.  I also was able to do it with my 3 year old's hair who has real short hair and it made cute little ringlets! Also was able to keep from burning her (although I did get my self once or twice!)

Imagine getting that amazing salon blow out at home...beautiful hair for a fraction of the price!! Conair makes it affordable to own salon quality products for less! The InfinitiPro is a sleek hair dryer with 3 temperature settings, 2 speeds and a cold shot button!! Use the low speed with the cool temperature setting for delicate, thin, or easy to style hair. Use the low speed with the warm temperature for average to thick or treated hair. Use the high speed with the hot temperature for thick, coarse or hard to style hair. The cold shot button is great for curls or to set style in place for any hair type.

I loved using this dryer on my daughters' hair. The cool setting is the perfect temperature for their little heads and we used it right after bed time. I brushed their hair, then dried it, fluffing with my fingers. For a straight look, I used the brush while I dried the hair to make it sleek and straight. Their hair looked extra shiny and smooth! Drying Basics:

2. Keep dryer's intake vents unobstructed and free from hair while drying.

3. To avoid over drying, do not concentrate heat on any one section for any extended length of time. Keep dryer moving as you style.

4. For quick touch ups, between shampoos, damper hair with a mist of water before styling with the dryer.

Curly hairs means special treatment! Hopefully if you have really curly hair like mine, you have figured out how to keep it healthy and looking its best! It took me many years to find the best products and things to do to keep my hair beautiful and not dry and frizzy! When I washed my kids with it, bath time actually went smoother! It didn't irritate their eyes and it made the tub bubbly! Great smelling too, like oranges. The best part is that it doesn't have the the icky additives, petroleum and parabens that other products do. Even the bottle is recycled!! How great is that? You can be sure that you are doing good for your child AND the environment! The packaging is even super cute, with artwork from Eric Carle!! Everybody remembers the "Hungry Little Caterpillar"! It was a favorite when I was a kid, and now it is a favorite of my kids!  Oh, and did I mention its only $8 a bottle?!? That is a deal!!
